In Memory of Satbir Singh Ghura:

Born on November 28, 1957, in Pathankot, India he was a beloved son, husband, father, and brother. He married Rachna Kataria in 1991, and together they had two daughters, Prerna and Niharika Ghura.

A successful businessman, Satbir's life was tragically cut short on March 5, 2000, due to a misdiagnosed heart condition. His passing left behind his most cherished relationships, forever altering the lives of his family and loved ones. At the time of his passing, his daughters Prerna and Niharika were 8 years old and 7 months old, respectively.

Despite enduring significant hardships emotionally and financially, Rachna Ghura, showed remarkable resilience and determination. Despite having limited education and not attending university, through hard work and perseverance, she worked tirelessly to support her family. Today, Rachna is not only a transit operator but also a successful businesswoman.

Rachna's strength and determination serve as an inspiration to her daughters Prerna and Niharika, who have achieved remarkable success in their chosen fields of education. Prerna is currently working with the Government of Canada, while Niharika is set to graduate from the University of British Columbia with a PharmD degree in 2024.

Today, in his memory, the Heart Cares Foundation seeks to honour Satbir's legacy by providing support and opportunities to learners affected by heart conditions within their families. May his spirit continue to inspire us to make a difference in the lives of others.
